I guess I have neglected to write about this, but the current American Idol front-runner, Crystal Bowersox, is not only amazing, she is also my second cousin. Now, I’ve never even met her (her parents are my dad’s cousins) and only vaguely remember hanging out with the Bowersox family ages ago, when I was a wee child, but I am pretty excited and I would be rooting for her even if we weren’t related. She is really, really good. Also, she has dreadlocks and you can tell she doesn’t really give a damn what the judges think of her; she is just doing her thing.
